ecoENERGY Renewed

Federal Budget 2011 renews ecoENERGY funding

On Monday June 06, the Conservatives introduced the 2011 Budget with a $400 million provision for a 1 year extension of the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program.

The ecoENERGY program provides professional advice and financial incentives of up to $5,000 to Canadian homeowners looking to undertake energy efficient home improvements.

To qualify for ecoENERGY incentives homeowners need to have a home energy audit completed before they undertake eligible home improvements.

As President of BEC Consulting, I have a 20 year history of providing pre-retrofit energy efficiency consultations, and I have been involved in the delivered EnerGuide Rating based pre-retrofit evaluations since 2004. Despite the political inconsistencies of the Harper Government, I remain committed to delivering a broad range of services and solutions to our clients, including ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes evaluations. BEC will continue this commitment regardless of the political situation in Canada, and whether or not financial incentives are available to homeowners.
